Rudi Garcia Admits He Would Be ‘Delighted’ to Coach Cristiano Ronaldo

Al-Nassr manager Rudi Garcia has admitted he would be “delighted” to coach Cristiano Ronaldo amid speculation linking the Portuguese superstar to a move to the Saudi Arabian club.

Cristiano Ronaldo, widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time, is currently a free agent after Manchester United terminated his contract by mutual consent.

Ronaldo sealed a sensational return to Manchester United in the summer of 2021, signing a two-year deal with an option for a further year. But his tenure at the Old Trafford outfit was cut short after sitting down for an explosive interview with Piers Morgan in which he criticized Erik ten Hag and the Glazer family, among many others. Manchester United and Ronaldo then decided to separate by mutual agreement.

The 37-year-old Portuguese icon is now without a club and has been linked with a move to Al-Nassr. Reports have said that Al-Nassr has already made a gigantic contract offer to Ronaldo.

Rudi Garcia refused to be swayed by the speculation surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo with Al-Nassr. Garcia also said that Cristiano Ronaldo’s telenovela has been a “very important promotion” for Al-Nassr.

“I can’t say anything about Cristiano because otherwise it would immediately appear in the headlines: ‘García: about Ronaldo’. What I see is that it has been a soap opera and it has been a very important promotion for Al-Nassr”, Rudi García told AS.

Rudi Garcia, however, also admitted that he would be delighted to coach Ronaldo. “I think any manager would be delighted to coach a big star like Cristiano,” said the Al-Nassr manager.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo’s hopes of winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup title with Portugal ended at the quarter-final stage. The European heavyweights had progressed to the round of 16 as top of Group H.

In the round of 16, Portugal faced Switzerland, defeating them 6-1 to secure their place in the quarterfinals. However, Morocco stunned Portugal in the quarter-finals, inflicting a 1-0 defeat on Cristiano Ronaldo and company. to get them out of the competition.

Cristiano Ronaldo started the match against Morocco on the bench but came on in the 51st minute. However, he was unable to help Portugal get the best of Morocco.
