‘Last thing he said to me…’ – Elliott reveals heartwarming Origi gesture Liverpool fans won’t be aware of

Divock Origi was undoubtedly one of the most popular figures Liverpool have enjoyed at Anfield, firmly establishing cult icon status with his phenomenal performances off the bench and moments of great play.

However, his support for the club’s rising stars may have gone relatively unnoticed, with Harvey Elliott recounting their latest L4 conversation and the Belgian’s generous spirit.

“Like I said, he’s a great guy and a great player. He was a great help in adjusting,” the teenager told liverpoolfc.com.

“He was always there for me and always very open to talk to me if I ever needed anything, and he still is now.

“The last thing he said to me was, ‘If you need anything, here’s my number, call me.’

“To have that support around me from players like him, it’s always good to know that you have people there that you can go and talk to if you need anything. To be able to see him again on Friday, I’m looking forward to it.”

With just two goal contributions in his first 14 games for new club AC Milan, it’s fair to say that his move to the Italian top flight hasn’t gone as planned so far.

Still, fans will no doubt be confident in Origi’s ability to turn things around and make his time in Italy as successful as it was in Merseyside.

For our part, we hope that Pre-Season 2.0 proves to be a much better preparation for the rest of the campaign than the first one and helps us get back into the top four places.

Even with Luis Diaz sidelined until March, there is still more than enough quality left to start with a strong performance against the league champions in the Carabao Cup on December 22.
