Konate’s crucial interception that helped France reach the World Cup final

Ibou Konate is the last member of Jurgen Klopp’s team still in the World Cup and managed to reach the final, largely because he was a vital member of Didier Deschamps’ team’s victory over Morocco.

Starting in place of an ailing Dayot Upamecano, our No.5 made his third appearance in the competition and provided one of the moments of the match.

With the ball bubbling in from the left flank, the 23-year-old had to be fully aware of his surroundings and managed to readjust his body in time to slide in and stop a sure goal.

Although many neutrals would have been backing the African team in the semi-final and Lionel Messi in the grand final, many reds will be rooting for our man and especially if he is given the start again against Argentina.
