Former Tottenham star expects 21-year-old to leave club in January

Former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson has hinted at Bryan Gil leaving the London club on loan during the January transfer window.

Gil has been with Tottenham since 2021, moving from Sevilla and spending part of last season on loan at Valencia.

According to Football Insider, the 21-year-old will be allowed to leave Spurs again on loan in January if a replacement can be signed, as Conte has only used the striker sparingly so far this season.

Gil has played just 73 minutes for Tottenham this season in six games and that’s not enough for a player to develop.

Therefore, Robinson hopes the youngster will leave the London club in January to gain valuable playing time.

Paul Robinson has advised Bryan Gil to leave Tottenham on loan

Speaking to Football Insider about Bryan Gil and a possible January loan for the 21-year-old, Robinson said: “I think it would be the best thing for all parties.

“He looks too skinny to be playing in the Premier League at the moment, so I can see that happening.

“He had a little bit of playing time when [Dejan] Kulusevski was hurt, but now that he’s back, it makes sense for Gil to go out and get regular playing time.

“You have to remember that he is still a young player. Another transfer would not hurt him at this point.

“He’s too good to play for the Under-21s, but he’s not quite ready to be a first-team regular. Therefore, a loan in Spain is probably a good idea.
