Indian multi-billionaire Mukesh Ambani to battle it out with Amazon for Manchester United ownership – Man United News And Transfer News

Ever since the Glazers put Manchester United up for sale, there has been a great deal of interest in the 20-time English champions, both inside and outside England.

Interested buyers include powerful individuals and large corporations. Notable individuals and companies that have been mentioned as interested in bidding on United include Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Amazon.

A report yesterday detailed how the Glazers plan to execute the sale, including the final sale price and deadline.

The Express reports that Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani is the latest to be linked with an ownership interest in England’s biggest football club.

Express conveys: “Ambani would certainly be an interesting candidate to take the reins at the Theater of Dreams.”

“The Glazers’ reported sale price of £4bn will not be an issue for Ambani given that he has a net worth of £75bn.”

“Ambani is a huge sports fan and is eager to grow football in his homeland of India, as evidenced by the way he helped establish the Indian Super League.”

Ambani is of the opinion that the acquisition of a top Premier League club of the caliber of United would help him in his goal of accelerating global interest in Indian sports.

What better way to do that than to acquire the biggest and most famous trademark in soccer?

The Indian billionaire is not new to sports equipment ownership. He owns the Indian Premier League cricket team Mumbai Indians, which has benefited greatly from his extensive investment.

His experience as a sports team owner is believed to set him apart from Amazon in acquiring United.

Both Amazon and Ambani on paper represent ideal options for United. Both sides have significant resources which, if invested in the club, would go a long way in transforming the team’s fortunes.
