Aurelien Tchouameni & Upamecano miss France training ahead of FIFA World Cup semi-final

France national soccer team players Aurelien Tchouameni and Dayot Upamecano did not train ahead of their 2022 FIFA World Cup semi-final clash with Morocco.

France, who are the defending world champions, qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup semi-final after defeating England 2-1 in the quarter-finals. The European nation is just two wins away from retaining the World Cup title.

Against England, both Aurelien Tchouameni and Dayot Upamecano played for France. Both players started for France against England and were present until the final whistle.

In fact, it was Aurelien Tchouameni who opened the scoring in that match, unleashing a long ranger into the corner to put France ahead. Dayot Upamecano, for his part, made a partner, Raphael Varane in the heart of the French defense.

Both Aurelien Tchouameni and Dayot Upamecano missed France training ahead of their 2022 FIFA World Cup clash. Aurelien Tchouameni was absent from training due to a calf injury sustained in their win over England.

Dayot Upamecano, for his part, missed training due to illness. Although the absence of both players is said to be not serious, they face a race against time to be fit for France’s 2022 FIFA World Cup clash with Morocco.

Should either or both of the players become unavailable for the match against Morocco, France is not short of options to replace them. France have Ibrahima Konate available in their ranks to replace Dayot Upamecano as center back.

Meanwhile, Morocco head into the 2022 FIFA World Cup match against France after causing some upsets in the round of 16 and quarter-final matchups. Morocco, which led the Group F points table, faced Spain in the round of 16. They defeated Spain on penalties to seal their place in the quarterfinals.

In the quarterfinals, Morocco faced Portugal and again brought out the best in a European heavyweight, defeating him 1-0. Morocco will try to upset France in the semifinals and continue their dream streak at the 2022 World Cup.

Meanwhile, the 2022 World Cup semi-final clash between France and Morocco kicks off at 12:30am India Standard Time on December 15.
