Lucas Paquetá has been criticized by Hugh Woozencroft after the elimination of Brazil in the quarterfinals of the World Cup in Croatia.
The 25-year-old played alongside Casemiro in a deeper midfield position for all 90 minutes of play before being replaced by Fred after extra time.
“West Ham United’s Lucas Paquetá was like a training cone for most of that game, he just didn’t know where to go,” Woozencroft said.
“He’s not a natural holding midfielder and when Brazil didn’t have the ball, they just chased shadows. They left him out there for too long.”
