Raheem Sterling decision made after he left the England squad due to an armed robbery on his home

Raheem Sterling’s family home was recently broken into by armed men while he was playing for England in the World Cup.

Matt Law confirmed that Sterling’s home was broken into while he was in Qatar for the World Cup. Sterling made the decision to fly home to ensure his family was safe, which caused him to miss the round of 16 game against Senegal.

With England set to take on France on Saturday night, Southgate no doubt hopes that Sterling is available and in the right mindset to be part of the team, while also respecting his decision to spend some time with his family.
