Exclusive: ‘Talked to Gareth Southgate…’ – Christian Falk on Henderson & Trent’s impact on Bellingham to LFC transfer

Christian Falk agreed that the contact between Jude Bellingham and Liverpool’s English duo of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson will help their chances of taking the midfield prodigy to the Premier League.

The German pointed to his earlier conversation with Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala as an excellent example of the power of player influence.

“Help, you know? Jamal Musiala was also convinced to play for Germany due to contact with the Bayern Munich players,” the BILD journalist told Empire of the Kop exclusively.

“I spoke to Gareth Southgate about it and he said ‘yes, it’s a shame the Munich players convinced him.’ This is always good for Liverpool.

“I spoke to Jamal Musiala on this point as well and said ‘is there any chance you can bring one of his best friends to Munich?’ and he said ‘no, there’s no chance. I would have really liked to play with him at the club, but I don’t think he will come to Munich and leave the Bundesliga.’

“So you see the players, also Jurgen Klopp, but also the English national players are doing a good job to get him into the Premier League.”

That’s not to forget how much Jurgen Klopp has reportedly been pushing behind the scenes for the Reds to get ahead of their well-funded rivals.

Judging by recent reports, the German’s efforts appear to have paid off with Falk reporting that the Bellingham entourage has already informed Real Madrid of our superior status in the ongoing transfer race.

While this is an extremely positive sign for our hopes of landing such a prestigious talent, it’s still too early to get cocky and there’s plenty of time left for the balance to change.

We are confident that the club will continue to do everything possible behind closed doors to carry out this potential move, a statement signing that would represent a stellar stop for Los Blancos’ acquisition of Aurelien Tchouameni last summer.
