France striker Giroud praises Rabiot: “We like him a lot”

Since the start of the season, Adrien Rabiot has really managed to turn the corner. After three largely disappointing seasons in Turin, he finally established himself as a vital player for Juventus.

In addition, his performances with the club have transcended the French team. The midfielder is looking to make up for the loss of Les Bleus’ triumphant 2018 campaign by helping them win their third World Cup.

The 27-year-old has become an automatic starter in Didier Deschamps’ line-up, especially in the absence of N’Gole Kanté and his Juventus teammate Paul Pogba.

For his part, Olivier Giroud has been another key player for France. The Milan striker recently broke Thierry Henry’s record to become the all-time goalscorer for his team.

However, the veteran remains humble and grateful to his teammates, taking the opportunity to praise Rabiot.

“We like him a lot,” Giroud said, referring to the Juventus midfielder, as reported by ilBianconero.

“He is being himself, all smiles. It is important in the field. I see that he feels accomplished.

“For us it’s great to have him available and fit, especially considering the absences we have in midfield.”

The French will now face England in the quarter-finals on Saturday in a heated battle that will revive the old rivalry between the two nations.
