It was a short, sweet comment about Ronaldo: Ten Hag no longer wants the 37-year-old to be a distraction, part of the reason he has now left the club.
No player is bigger than Manchester United, and the club now has to look forward. If they continue to worry or talk about Ronaldo, then terminating his contract is pointless as he will continue to be an unwanted distraction.
Losing Ronaldo from the salary bill will allow Manchester United to continue to grow, hoping to bring in a younger attacker to replace him with a long-term plan in mind.
