Fabrizio Romano on Endrick Real Madrid transfer

Fabrizio Romano has discussed Endrick’s transfer saga to Real Madrid in his latest CaughtOffside column via Substack.

The Brazilian wunderkind looks to be one of the most exciting prospects in world soccer right now, and there’s been quite a run to win the race for his signature.

Romano previously explained what a three-horse race between Chelsea, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain to sign Endrick has been like, and that race now appears to be coming to an end.

According to Romano, Real Madrid are now the favorites to sign the 16-year-old, although he doesn’t expect this to affect a possible deal with Kylian Mbappé due to the players’ age difference.

“Real Madrid is close to signing Endrick from Palmeiras. PSG have dropped out of the race for the Brazilian teenager after seeing an offer rejected by Palmeiras,” Romano said.

Endrick to Real Madrid?

“In the meantime, Real Madrid have agreed personal terms and are discussing the details of the contract.

“Real Madrid is in pole position to close this deal for a package of 70 million euros, they are working on the final details and hope to do so soon.

“Some fans have asked me how this affects potential interest in Kylian Mbappe, but to be honest I don’t see any links between Mbappe and Endrick. Mbappé is world class, while Endrick is a great talent for the future who won’t arrive at Real Madrid before 2024.”

Romano added that Chelsea have plenty of other young players as alternatives on their radar, so Blues fans shouldn’t be too disappointed that this deal now seems to have slipped away from them.

“As I mentioned in my previous video, PSG are out of the race to sign Endrick and Real Madrid are the clear favorites now, so what about Chelsea?” Romano wrote.

“Endrick was a target for Chelsea, but they have many others on the list – they are following many of the best young players from around the world, albeit with nothing imminent.

“Also, they will be signing Christopher Nkunku who should be a great addition to the team, so he is something Blues fans are looking forward to.”
