Amad Diallo makes a plea to Sunderland fans regarding offensive chant – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United loan Amad Diallo has pleaded with Sunderland fans to change the chant they have coined for him.

Diallo spoke to Sunderland fans via the club’s social networks before the game against Millwall.

Talksport reports on Diallo’s plea, that the Ivorian wants the chant containing racial stereotypes changed.

Despite his request, however, there were some Black Cats fans who continued with the song about the 20-year-old’s masculinity.

Since moving next door to Tony Mowbray in Laon, Diallo has gradually become a fan favourite.

Yesterday against Millwall, the winger shone again and finished off a great performance with a goal.

After enduring a slow start at the Stadium of Light, Diallo has now scored in four of the last six games he has played for Sunderland.

Diallo, rightly offended by the song, said: “Sunderland fans, I’ve had an amazing time so far and I love their energy.”

“And hearing you sing my name is amazing. But we have to be respectful.”

“Let’s change the song, keep the noise down, and move forward together.”

Hopefully, the wishes of the highly talented youngster will be honored and everyone will be able to enjoy his dazzle on the soccer field again.

Diallo hopes his exploits with Sunderland will provide him with a springboard into Erik ten Hag’s schemes.

A recent report indicated that United’s coaching staff are very optimistic about his chances and wish to see him become an integral part of the first-team setup in the near future.

Certainly, he is more than capable of accomplishing this feat. Even more so with the Red Devils’ lightness in the attacking department.
