Pele says he is ‘feeling strong’ after hospitalization

Pele Health News: Brazilian legend Pele was hospitalized Tuesday with a respiratory injection. Pelé was diagnosed with bowel cancer in September 2021. The 82-year-old legend has been undergoing treatment ever since.

The Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo, where Pele is hospitalized, said on Saturday that Pele is responding well to treatment. He is receiving chemotherapy for cancer and is also receiving antibodies to treat an infection. At present, it is reported that his condition is stable.

Brazilian soccer legend Pelé provided an update on his health. On his social media account, Pelé wrote: “My friends, I want to keep everyone calm and positive. I am strong, very excited and I continue my treatment as always. I want to thank the entire medical and nursing team for all the care I received.”

He added: “I have a lot of faith in God and every message of love I receive from you around the world keeps me energized. And look at Brazil in the World Cup too. Thank you so much for everything,”

Pelé is among the greatest players to ever grace the game. He has played 1,363 games (including friendlies) in his career, scoring 1,279 goals, which is a Guinness record. The Times named him among the 100 most influential people of the 20th century and he was also one of two joint winners of the FIFA Player of the Century award.

Pelé helped Brazil win three FIFA World Cups in 1958, 1962 and 1970 and is Brazil’s all-time leading goalscorer with 77 goals in 92 games. The Brazilian is also credited with connecting the phrase ‘The Beautiful game’ to football.

France star Kylian Mbappe, who is widely considered the next Pelé, shared a post on his social media account, saying: ‘Pray for the King.

The torch tower in Qatar was also lit for Pele.
FIFA World Cup hosts Qatar has also honored the Brazilian legend with a drone message.

England captain Harry Kane also wishes Pelé a speedy recovery during a press conference ahead of the Three Lions’ round of 16 tie against Senegal.
