Virgil van Dijk appeared to scoff at the idea of Cody Gakpo moving to Manchester United in the near future.
This comes courtesy of a tweet from Fabrizio Romano relaying the Dutchman’s comments to The Athletic.

Our number 4’s comments on the matter, if nothing else, seem to suggest that Manchester United are not a genuine choice for their international teammate, although the same cannot be said for Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Having said that, Van Dijk’s presence could play a role in influencing Gakpo towards an Anfield switch, if we so desire.
