Locatelli opens up on his dreams about playing for Juventus

Juventus midfielder Manuel Locatelli has revealed just how much of a fan he is of the bianconeri after sealing a dream transfer to the club last season.

The midfielder was one of Italy’s best players at Euro 2020 and Juve faced serious competition from Arsenal to add him to their squad.

Since then, the Bianconeri have been enjoying his talent, and he didn’t even consider Arsenal’s offer when he decided to leave Sassuolo.

This is because he is a lifelong Bianconeri fan like most of his family and reveals that his childhood home was littered with photos of former Juve players who were his idols.

He said via Football Italia:

“Anyone who knows me will say that I have been a Juventus fan since I was born, like the rest of my family, and I remember telling my agent that one day I would have to join the Bianconeri.

“My childhood bedroom still has posters of the old Juventus players. My idols above all were Alessandro Del Piero and Pavel Nedved, so much so that I showed Nedved the photos of my room when he had the meeting to get to Turin ”.

Juve FC says

Locatelli has been a key player for us since he moved to the club and he continues to show that he really loves wearing our black and white, which is impressive.

He is still very young and we expect him to be much better than he is at the moment, considering the early promise he showed in Sassuolo.
