Brazil Team doctor provides an update on Neymar Injury

Neymar suffered an ankle injury during Brazil’s 2022 FIFA World Cup opening match against Serbia. The Paris Saint-Germain attacker has been sidelined ever since.

English newspaper SportsMole recently claimed that Neymar could miss the remainder of the FIFA World Cup due to injury. He suffers from flu-like symptoms and has not yet participated in weight training.

Neymar has been a key player for Brazil since his international debut in 2010. He has made 122 appearances for the Selecao so far, registering 75 goals and 55 assists. It would be a blow to the Brazil national soccer team if Neymar misses the remainder of the tournament through injury.

Speaking to reporters, he said (via Sportskeeda): “Regarding Neymar, we think we have free time. Let’s hope what his transition will be, he hasn’t started practicing with the ball yet and it’s something they’ll do tomorrow. It will be important to see how they respond to this new style, so depending on that, we will make a call.”

The Paris Saint-Germain attacker is considered one of the most talented attackers of his generation. However, his career has been hampered by injuries.

According to TransferMarkt, he has missed 22 club games due to injuries since the start of last season. Neymar also suffered an injury during the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He left the field with a back injury during the Selecao’s quarter-final win against Colombia.
