Luka Modric has been a key player for Croatia since his debut in 2006. He has made 158 appearances for Vatreni so far, registering 23 goals and 25 assists. Luka Modric’s retirement will leave a huge void for the Croatia team to fill.

Croatian international Luka Modric has chosen Diego Maradona as the best Argentine footballer of all time.
During his interaction with Verónica Brunati, he said: “For me, Maradona is the greatest. With Messi, Maradona and Leo are the two greats, but Diego is Diego”.
Maradona has made 91 caps for Argentina between 1977 and 1994. He won the FIFA Player of the Century award in 2000 and was also named the Argentine Soccer Writers’ Footballer of the Year four times. He helped Argentina win the 1986 FIFA World Cup and the 1993 Artemio Cup.
