He has been a consistent performer for PSV Eindhoven since breaking into their first team during the 2017-18 season. Cody Gakpo has made 159 appearances (in all competitions) for the Dutch club so far, registering 55 goals and 50 assists.
The 23-year-old attacker won the 2021-22 Dutch Footballer of the Year award after contributing 12 goals and 13 assists in 27 league games. He, too, started the current season brightly and has already registered nine goals and 12 assists in 14 Eredivisie appearances.
Cody Gakpo focused on the FIFA World Cup
Dutch international Cody Gakpo is fully focused on helping the Dutch team amid interest from various Premier League clubs. Speaking to the media, he said: “I am 100% focused now on the World Cup. It’s always nice to hear, but here I just focus and do the best I can.”

Cody Gakpo is a key member of the Netherlands FIFA World Cup squad. He was on the scoresheet for the Netherlands’ first three FIFA World Cup matches. The 23-year-old winger will be looking to continue his excellent goalscoring form when the Dutch team take on hosts Qatar in their final group game on Tuesday.
Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal are among the clubs that have shown interest in signing Cody Gakpo recently. The Dutchman is likely to make a decision about his future at the end of the current season.
Ryan Babel suggests Cody Gakpo join Arsenal
Former Liverpool winger Ryan Babel has suggested Cody Gakpo join Arsenal instead of moving to Liverpool, Chelsea or Manchester United.
Speaking to Athletic, he said: “As a Liverpool fan, I would tell him to go to Liverpool if they make an approach! Arsenal would also be an incredible team for him, with the current manager and the project they are building.”
Arsenal have made remarkable progress under Mikel Arteta this season. The Gunners have won 12 of their first 14 league games this season. They currently sit at the top of the Premier League table, five points clear of second-place Manchester City.
