Alex Sandro was on the pitch when Brazil beat Switzerland 1-0 in the World Cup yesterday.
The Brazilians are one of the favorites to win the competition and are the second team along with Portugal to have won their first two group stage matches.
Sandro has come under fire for his performances on the Juventus books and appears to be on the verge of leaving the club, but remains his country’s first choice.
He was in excellent form in their 2-0 win against Serbia in their first World Cup group game, but his performance against the Swiss didn’t impress the Italian media too much.
A report on Tuttomercatoweb reveals that TMW, La Gazzetta dello Sport, Tuttosport and Sports Courier rated it 6.5/10, while Corriere della Sera rated it 6/10.
Juve FC says
Sandro remains one of our key players, although his performances have left a lot to be desired of late.
The left back continues to be one of the players in our squad who could regain the coach’s confidence if he performs well in the World Cup.
If he does that and Brazil wins the competition, we could give him a contract extension so he can keep playing for us.
