The festive period is traditionally one that is packed with football and therefore one that pulls more on the bag strings, something Liverpool have sought to alleviate with their latest gesture for the fans.
As reported on the club’s website: ‘Liverpool FC is offering free bus travel to supporters with tickets to the Premier League away game against Aston Villa on December 26.’
Some may only see it as a small offering from the club and something they could do more often to help out some of their most loyal fanbase, but it should still be highlighted and congratulated.

When we faced Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final last season, the same offer was made, but that was due to a lack of alternative travel options that weekend.
However, now that the cost of living crisis is directly mentioned in the statement, it is clear that there has been a clear effort to help our supporters in what is always a financially demanding time of year.
For every mistake owners make that is widely discussed, we should also highlight when acts of generosity and empathy are shown.
If this is to be one of the FSG’s final acts before selling the club, then it shows how far they have come in understanding what it means to be a football fan and how to help the people of Merseyside.
