Alejandro Garnacho has started training early in a bid to impress Erik ten Hag – Man United News And Transfer News

With most Manchester United players currently busy with their national team at the World Cup, Erik ten Hag has given those who haven’t been selected a breather.

The plan is for them to rejoin training in Carrington soon before flying to Andalucía for a short training camp before playing two friendlies against Liga teams Cádiz and Real Betis.

For the young players, it will be a good time to impress the manager and possibly try to hold their own in post-World Cup matches.

Garnacho desperate to impress

In addition to the youth stars, several first team stars will also have the chance to work closely with the manager and one of them is Player of the Month Alejandro Garnacho.

He was United’s star in all four competitive games this month, scoring two goals and as many assists and was even challenged by the former Ajax manager to become a regular in the starting line-up.

His impressive form included his first senior goal against Real Sociedad in the Europa League, as well as a winning goal in the Premier League against Fulham.

Garnacho also became the youngest United star to record two assists in the same game for his superlative feat against Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup.

The Madrid youngster’s form sparked quite a few discussions about whether Argentina should have included him in their World Cup plans, but in the end his dream did not come true.

Trying to get a head start

His meticulous preparation before games has received much praise and the winger is currently trying to get ahead of his teammates and has also started working on his fitness.

The Argentine has been seen heading to Madrid and training with physical trainer Javier Ledesma at the ESC LALIGA&NBA Soccer Center on the outskirts of the Spanish capital.

The images have been uploaded to social media and are sure to be an attempt to impress Ten Hag, who spoke about the need for the 18-year-old to keep working hard and down to earth.

His competitor for the left wing spot, Jadon Sancho, has also been working separately despite the break as he looks to unseat the Argentine and regain his place in the first XI.
