Potentially worrying injury update for Henderson after England appearance

Jordan Henderson made his first World Cup appearance when he entered the field with 20 minutes remaining in England’s 0-0 draw with the USA, but appears to have picked up a minor injury.

The La Nación Twitter account updated the training plan for the day after the match and confirmed that: “Henderson is working indoors on an individual program.”

It may be the case that the player, or even Liverpool, have implemented a special plan that is different from everyone else the day after a game, but it is certainly strange to see only our captain training away from the main group.

Jurgen Klopp said he wanted his players to keep them informed of any injury issues during their time in Qatar, so let’s hope it’s just a case of our number 14 being honest and the club asking to be looked after.

Given his role in Gareth Southgate’s side, it’s fair to assume the 32-year-old won’t take any chances against Wales if he’s not 100% fit.

Most of our supporters will be more than happy to see our players rest where possible as we hope the whole team will be ready to go once domestic football returns.
