Nepalese Labourer urged Harry Kane to speak up to migrant workers at FIFA World Cup 2022

Harry Kane: FIFA has received a lot of criticism for awarding the hosting rights for the 2022 FIFA World Cup to Qatar. The Arab nation has been accused of human rights violations in recent years.

The English newspaper The Guardian published a report in 2021, stating that 6,500 workers from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have died since Qatar won the bid to host the FIFA World Cup.

Their deaths are largely unexplained due to a lack of investment by the Qatari authorities. According to the Qatari government, only 37 workers have died during the construction of the FIFA World Cup stadiums.

Sigdel claimed he owed £1,500 in unpaid wages for his work to build the stadium, where England will play the United States on Saturday. In the video of him, he said: “What I would like to say to Harry Kane [and] these international players who come to play the World Cup.

We ask you to speak for the workers suffering in the World Cup stadium through the media or any way you can help us.”

Qatar has been accused of violating the human rights of workers involved in the construction of the FIFA World Cup Stadium. They were forced to work for as little as £45 an hour for the construction of the stadium.
