Diego Simeone breaks silence on Manchester United target Joao Felix’s future

Diego Simeone has spoken out on the future of Joao Félix amid links with Manchester United.

A report from AS recently claimed that Manchester United were interested in signing Atletico Madrid striker Felix as they look to find a long-term replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo’s contract expires at the end of the season and as each month passes it seems more and more likely that he will leave the club as Erik ten Hag often only uses him off the bench.

Now, the coach of Atlético de Madrid, Simeone, has spoken about the future of Félix.

Joao Felix to Manchester United?

“Joao is one of the players who has scored the most goals out of the strikers we have, even though he now has three. He has a goal and hopefully he can continue with us and that he can perform at the level that he has shown so many times playing and show that he has a goal because we need him, ”said Simeone, according to Marca.

It seems that Simeone is not even entertaining Felix so that he leaves the club. Felix has struggled at times at Atletico, but the Portuguese striker is still very young and has great potential.

Felix would be the ideal striker for Manchester United. Instead of signing a player of Ronaldo’s profile, who was always going to start to decline after joining the club, they should target a younger and promising player who can develop at the club for many years.
