(Video) Nunez’s ice cool penalty during Derby victory looks unsavable

Caoimhin Kelleher may have saved three penalties during Liverpool’s win over Derby and Harvey Elliott may have been the Reds’ star to score the winning penalty, but Darwin Nunez’s icy penalty has gone a bit unnoticed.

The Uruguayan got on the point after Bobby Firmino shot from 12 yards and Louie Sibley had leveled the shootout score at 2-2.

There was pressure for the £64m man to find the back of the net and that is exactly what he did.

Our No. 27 adopted a very direct run and made a mini jump on his way to calmly place the ball with precision in the lower right corner of the net.

Derby goalkeeper Joe Wildsmith may have headed in the right direction, he was yards from his line and stretched to the max, but due to the pinpoint accuracy of the former Benfica striker’s penalty, he simply had no chance to avoid it.

Everton’s loan-out striker Dobbin then had his corresponding penalty saved by Kelleher, meaning Elliott had a chance to send us through to the next round.

That’s exactly what the former Fulham youngster did after sending the Rams goalkeeper the wrong way.
