Ibou Konate received dream information when he received a call-up to France’s World Cup squad and the outpouring of love he received from some familiar names is testament to the respect he commands within the locker room.
On his Instagram account, the defender wrote (translated from French): ‘What a pride and what an honor to be able to represent France in the biggest competition. This is a childhood dream come true. ???? What a long way from the city stadium but it’s not over yet. Thank you very much for your support and love. I will give my all to get that victory and make you happy during this amazing competition! Now to Qatar and above all to the blues! ❤️????????????????????????’.

All the men who send messages are good friends, but you have to give our Portuguese striker credit, especially who will miss the competition due to injury, but still took the time to congratulate his teammate.
This close relationship within the dressing room will no doubt carry over onto the pitch and hopefully we can enjoy a long career with the 23-year-old at the heart of our defence.
For now though, our number 5 has to get through one last league game with Liverpool and then hope that this winter will bring him one of football’s biggest prizes and an enjoyable time in Qatar.
