Raphael Varane handed injury boost by France boss Didier Deschamps – Man United News And Transfer News

Didier Deschamps has provided an injury update on Raphael Varane, absent from Manchester United.

The technical director of the French National Team recently named his team for the World Cup and named the world-class centre-back as a member.

This was despite Varane suffering a thigh injury during United’s 1–1 draw with Chelsea.

Varane has been unavailable since then and has been ruled out for further action before the World Cup.

“He will be out, certainly until the World Cup,” Erik ten Hag said shortly after the match.

“So, he will not play in this block for Man United. I think [he will be fit for the World Cup]. We have to wait and see how it develops, how his rehabilitation develops.”

Fortunately for France, though, Deschamps believes the former Real Madrid star will be ready to hit the ground running in Qatar.

“For Varane, it’s a bit longer injury, but he will be available for the first game against Australia if all goes well.” (Manchester Evening News)

France open their World Cup campaign against Australia on November 22 and will be delighted to have their star defender available.

As for Manchester United, fans are expecting a smooth trip for the Frenchman.

Varane is crucial to the Red Devils defense and Ten Hag will need him back on the other side of the World Cup.

Neither Victor Lindelof nor Harry Maguire have been convincing in Varane’s absence and United lack depth in the face of injury. United Matchday Magazine – Stay on top of all things red! Take a seat for the Aston Villa game and join the debate on United’s hottest topics!
