Champions League round-of-16 confirmed ties

The draw for the Champions League round of 16 took place on Monday and it has now been confirmed who will face whom in the next stage of European competition.

Spanish giants Real Madrid will face Premier League side Liverpool in the Champions League round of 16. It is a repeat of last season’s Champions League final, where Real Madrid emerged as winners and Liverpool as runners-up.

Real Madrid overcame Liverpool in the 22/23 Champions League final, Vinicius Jr’s second-half goal propelling the La Liga side to European glory. Liverpool will be looking to exact revenge on Carlo Ancelotti’s men and eliminate them from the competition when the two teams meet in the round of 16.

In another blockbuster clash, German giants Bayern Munich and Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain will meet in the round of 16. PSG’s second-place finish in Group H meant they would face the group winner in the round of 16, and they have drawn against Bayern. The German team topped Group C, which also included Inter Milan, FC Barcelona and Viktoria Plzen.
