Serie A giants Juventus have entered the race to sign Ivory Coast international Wilfried Zaha from English Premier League club Crystal Palace.

Wilfried Zaha began his football journey at the Crystal Palace academy. The striker later graduated from the Crystal Palace academy and was promoted to the main team.

He played three years for the English team before joining EPL giants Manchester United. However, Zaha failed to cement his place in the Manchester United setup. He was then loaned out to Cardiff City.

The striker eventually returned to Crystal Palace in 2014 on a season-long loan. However, the agreement soon became a permanent one. At Palace he regained his form and became the Eagles’ most important player.

Now, according to a report from Standard, Serie A giants Juventus are keen to sign Wilfried Zaha on a free transfer in the upcoming summer transfer window.

After dominating Serie A for more than a decade, Juventus is currently going through a transition phase. They have failed to finish in the top three during their last two terms. Now the Bianconeri have had a very poor start to this season.

Juventus have managed to win only six of their first twelve matches. They have added twenty-two points and are currently in eighth position in the table. Juventus’ performance on the European stage has been even worse.

For the first time in their history, the Bianconeri lost five of their six UEFA Champions League group stage games. This also includes a loss against Israeli club Maccabi Haifa. As a result, Juventus crashed out of the UCL group stage. They will appear in Europe later in the season.

Now the Juventus management understands his situation very well. They want to sign more quality players in the coming windows to strengthen their squad. Meanwhile, Wilfried Zaha’s current contract with Crystal Palace will come to an end next season. The Ivorian forward is yet to sign an extension contract and could be looking to join a new club.

This is presented as a great opportunity for Juventus who want to sign the striker. However, the report further suggests that La Liga giants FC Barcelona have also joined the race for Zaha. Due to its economic problems, Barcelona is targeting many free agents for next summer.

Xavi’s team sees the 29-year-old striker as a very good option and will do everything possible to sign him. Meanwhile, Chelsea and Arsenal are also very interested in the striker. So if Juventus want to sign him, he will have to move fast.

Juventus will face Inter Milan in their next game.
