Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has named seven teams that can challenge for the Premier League title this season.

Man City is the defending Premier League champion after winning the coveted title on 21/22. Manchester City won the title in the 21/22 season after finishing the league campaign with 93 points in 38 games. They were a point clear of second-placed Liverpool.

Guardiola’s men sit second in the Premier League points table in the current 22/23 campaign. The Cityzens have 29 points from 12 games, with nine wins, two draws and one loss.

But Man City are two points behind Arsenal, who sit at the top of the Premier League points table. The Gunners have 31 points from 12 games, with 10 wins, one draw and one loss.

Speaking ahead of Man City’s Premier League clash with Fulham, Guardiola named seven teams who are the contenders for the league title this season.

He said that Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United can compete for the Premier League title this season.

“I would say Arsenal, I would say Man City, I would say Chelsea, I would say Newcastle, I would say Tottenham, I would say United and I would also say Liverpool,” Guardiola said. [via Liverpool Echo] when asked about the Premier League title race.

The Man City manager added: “I think these teams can fight for the title.”

As mentioned above, Arsenal and Man City rank first and second in the Premier League points table. Tottenham Hotspur is third in the table with 26 points. But the North London side have played one more game than Arsenal and Man City.

Newcastle United is fourth in the points table. They have 24 points but have also played one more game than Man City and Arsenal.

Manchester United, meanwhile, are in fifth place and Chelsea are sixth in the points table. The Red Devils have 23 points from 12 games, while the Blues have added 21 points.

Liverpool, another team that Guardiola said can challenge for the EPL title, languish in ninth place in the points table. The Merseyside side have picked up just 16 points from their opening 12 games in the English top flight this season. They are 15 points behind Arsenal, leader of the table.
