Real Madrid news: Toni Kroos is one of the most talented midfielders of his generation. He arrived at the whites from Bayern Munich in the summer window of 2014.

Kroos has made 382 appearances (in all competitions) for the Madrid outfit so far, registering 25 goals and 86 assists. He helped Los Blancos claim three La Liga titles and four UEFA Champions League trophies, among other honours.

The German international won the German Footballer of the Year award in 2018 and was also included in the UEFA Champions League Team of the Season on five separate occasions.

Real Madrid wants to renew Toni Kroos’ contract

According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid has prepared a contract extension for Toni Kroos. The German international is in the last year of his current contract at the Bernabéu Stadium.

On his social media account, Romano posted: “Real Madrid has Toni Kroos’ contract proposal ready in case he decides to continue and play one more season. The final decision only depends on Kroos: he will take time, as the German midfielder announced, and key steps are expected in the first months of 2023”.

Despite turning 32 this year, Kroos is still a regular for Los Blancos. He has appeared in 10 LaLiga games this season, assisting one goal. Kroos has also provided two assists in six UEFA Champions League games.

The former Bayern Munich midfielder announced his retirement from international football in 2021. However, according to a report from Marca, Germany is making an effort to get Kroos to reconsider his retirement ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

Kroos scored 17 goals in 106 appearances for Germany before retiring. He was part of the national team that lifted the FIFA World Cup in 2014.

Real Madrid interested in Moises Caicedo

According to Transfers (via Sportskeeda), Real Madrid are interested in signing Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo.

Caicedo has established himself as one of the most talented midfielders of his generation since joining Gaviotas from Independiente del Valle in the January 2021 window. He has made 20 Premier League appearances so far, registering two goals and one attendance.

Brighton is demanding a transfer fee of close to €80m to sell its prized assets. Real Madrid will have to pay close to that fee to bring him to the Bernabéu Stadium. In addition to the whites, Liverpool and Chelsea have also shown interest in signing the Ecuadorian international in recent weeks.
