Neil Jones drops Liverpool transfer claim fans will be happy to hear

The growing suspicion as we inch ever closer to the January transfer window is that Liverpool simply won’t have the financial wherewithal to adequately challenge their domestic and European rivals for the signing of Jude Bellingham.

Looking at the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid and Chelsea, for example, it would be hard to scoff at that prospect.

Neil Jones confirmed that although the question “has always been finances and competition”, he does not completely rule Jurgen Klopp’s men out of the running.

“Obviously there is a possibility that Liverpool will sign him. That’s the best you can say right now,” the GOAL reporter told Redmen TV.

We know at this point that Borussia Dortmund are inclined (and rightly so) to demand around €150m for their star midfielder.

That’s an obscene amount of money, although we’re talking about a player who is likely to become the leading midfielder in world football for the next decade or so.

We know that Bellingham highly values his personal development and the club that is able to offer him the best possible opportunity to realize his limitless potential will have a great opportunity to sign him in the summer.

Klopp has shown that his Liverpool team is more than capable of catapulting players to dizzying heights of global stardom, just look at Mo Salah.

Given the opportunity, we don’t see why the German tactician couldn’t do the same with such a versatile and malleable talent as the Bundesliga teenager.
