Virgil van Dijk names one player he would love to play alongside

Virgil van Dijk has named Kevin De Bruyne as the only player he would have loved to have played with.

The Netherlands captain was speaking to former Manchester United defender Gary Neville and when asked which player he would most like to share the pitch with, be it at club or international level, the 31-year-old was quick to reply. .

“Kevin DeBruyne. I think it’s amazing,” the Dutchman told The Overlap (via Express).

“If he played for Liverpool, we would have gone even further than we have already done. I think it’s outstanding. Good with the ball, pressing, scoring. He has everything a modern midfielder should have. As a footballer, he is an outstanding player”.

Although the Belgian may play for rivals Manchester City, it’s hard to deny that he truly is a world-class player.

His ability to both score and create goals is outstanding and it is interesting to consider how much better Jurgen Klopp’s side could be if they signed the former Wolfsburg man.

City No. 17 has three goals and 12 assists in all competitions this term and really makes Pep Guardiola’s team work.

Van Dijk himself has been recognized as one of the best defenders in the world, if not the best, in recent years and has been involved in numerous battles with De Bruyne in recent seasons.

The Dutch international helped his team keep the talented midfielder quiet at Anfield recently as we won 1-0 against the Premier League champions and the 31-year-old was a Liverpool supporter growing up, so if you fancy a move to the FA Cup winners in the near future, he’s more than welcome!
