Liverpool learn fresh Bellingham price-tag update after Dortmund man scores ninth goal of the season

Liverpool and many of the other top teams in Europe who will be jumping into the ring for Jude Bellingham know they will need to put their money where their mouths are to have a chance of landing the highly rated Englishman.

Jan Aage Fjortoft relayed a Bild/Jorg Weiler update with the publications reporting that, as things stand, Borussia Dortmund will demand €150m (£129m) this summer for their nine-goal star.

The lack of a release clause will mean that the German team will not be affected by the same limitations that applied to Erling Haaland’s departure.

While it’s a delicious figure that would spoil our £64m (potentially rising to £85m) purchase of Darwin Nunez, it’s hard to argue that the former Birmingham City youth prospect wouldn’t be worth every penny.

Given that we have a midfield that will probably be without Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and James Milner next year (not to mention the fact that both Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara are 30 years old), we just can’t afford to be apprehensive when it comes to quality of such magnitude.

If we are able to meet Bellingham’s demands when it comes to salary, it would be foolish not to go all out for him at the first available opportunity.
