Newcastle concerned about 25-year-old injury record

The Northern Echo reports that Newcastle are concerned about Saint-Maximin’s injury history. A hamstring problem caused him to miss the last eight games.

The report also states that Saint-Maximin’s concerns may lead Toon owners to spend a lot of money elsewhere.

Despite the signing of Alexander Isak, Newcastle are keen to add another attacker to the squad and have a substantial budget to complete the deal in January.

Newcastle have been in fine form despite Maximin’s injury and remain unbeaten in games the Frenchman has missed recently.

The Tyneside club have been heavily linked with Mousa Diaby, James Maddison and Leandro Trossard and a January move could be on the cards for any of them.
