Allegri believes Juventus need a “healthy madness” -Juvefc.com

On Saturday, Juventus put their recent elimination from the Champions League behind them and earned three points at the tough Via del Mare Stadium.

Backed by their raucous supporters, Lecce certainly didn’t make it easy for the Old Lady, but Nicolò Fagioli’s splendid goal was enough to break the tie and give Max Allegri’s side a third successive Serie A victory.

The coach was obviously pleased with the result, as we all know his fondness for 1-0 wins. The Livorno native felt that his players did well, especially the youngsters.

Allegri praised Fagioli for the quality he possesses, but still feels the youngster has to learn the trade to become a true Regista.

“Apart from the last shot of the match where we were lucky, the boys played a good game, also technically,” Allegri said in his post-match interview via Juventus’ official website.

“We could have taken better advantage of the precision in the passes but the important thing was to win, because we came from a bad defeat in Lisbon.

“Fagioli is a high-quality lad, his role is to direct the game against the defense. He has great technique, but that’s a role he has to learn.

“Samuel Iling-Junior also did very well giving him a good pass, but everyone did well tonight in a difficult moment and our aim was to move up the rankings.”

The former Milan coach also said that the team needs a bit of healthy madness, which comes in handy in difficult times.

“In football, as in life, you fall and get up, you have to be unperturbed and have a healthy madness, especially when things go wrong.

“You have to be mentally strong to face the storm and get up again, finding your balance.

“We haven’t won three league games in a row since March, so it wasn’t a foregone conclusion; I have to thank the boys and tomorrow we will have a good Sunday”.
