English Premier League giants Manchester City are off to a good start in defending their title.

Pep Guardiola’s team has won eight of the first eleven games. They have added twenty-six points in these eleven games and are in second place in the table.

They will now face Leicester City in their next match at the King Power Stadium. Leicester are currently struggling in the seventeenth position in the table. They desperately need points to stay in the division. But surely Guardiola’s team will not make it easy for him.

So before the match, let’s take a look at how Manchester City can line up against Leicester City.

Manchester City’s predicted starting XI

How can Manchester City line up against Leicester City?

Pep Guardiola will use his typical 4-3-3 formation against the Foxes. Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson is ready to start in goal. Ederson was rested in City’s last game against Dortmund. In his absence Ortega had a great start but the German is unlikely to keep his place.

Portuguese defender Ruben Dias and Dutch centre-back Nathan Ake will play at the heart of the defence. Both Laporte and Stones have recently returned from injury and Guardiola is unlikely to start them.

Swiss international Manuel Akanji will have to play as a makeshift right back. So far, the defender has done well in his new position. This will allow Joao Cancelo to play his preferred role of reverse left-back.

Rodri will once again start in the defensive midfield position. Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva will complete City’s three-man midfield. De Bruyne was rested in Manchester City’s last game against Dortmund and will be back in action.

England international Jack Grealish will start on the win left. Grealish played just a few minutes in the last match against the German club and will be keen to continue his good form. He will be accompanied by Phil Foden. Foden has had a brilliant start to the season. The young Englishman already has six league goals. He will be looking to add more against Leicester.

Meanwhile, Guardiola will have to make a big decision about the forward position. Erling Haaland suffered a minor foot injury in the last match. The Norwegian is not quite fit. And we could see Argentine forward Julián Álvarez leading the lines against Leicester.
