West Ham United manager David Moyes has refused to comment on the situation Cristiano Ronaldo is in at Manchester United.

The Portuguese superstar is no longer a fixture in Manchester United’s starting eleven and has spent more time on the bench this season than he would have anticipated.

Ronaldo has appeared in eight games for Man Utd in the Premier League so far this season. But he has only made two starts in the English top flight this season, with the rest coming off the bench.

Ronaldo was also an unused substitute in Man Utd’s 6–3 loss to Manchester City. The Portuguese also refused to come on as a late substitute in the Red Devils’ 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur. He too ran through the tunnel and left Old Trafford before the match was over. He faced punishment for his actions, as Erik ten Hag left him out of the Man Utd squad for his next match, which was against Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Man Utd come into the match following their 3-0 victory over FC Sheriff in the Europa League. Ronaldo was one of the scorers as Man Utd won all three points.

The Portuguese superstar scored Man Utd’s third goal of the game, grabbing a rebound after forcing a save from Maksym Koval. The win over Sheriff kept Man Utd’s hopes of topping Group E alive.

The Old Trafford side have 12 points from five group games. They are three points behind Real Sociedad, who sit at the top of the table.

Manchester United will advance to the next stage of the competition as Group E winners if they beat Sociedad by at least 2-0 in their next match in the competition.
