Supercomputer predicts fairytale World Cup winner with dream final

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are two of the greatest players to ever step foot on a football pitch and have won just about everything in the sport between them, but the one thing that eludes them both is the World Cup.

With Lionel Messi 35 and Ronaldo two years older, the World Cup in Qatar this November could be their last chance to win football’s biggest prize.

Although nothing can be taken away from them, football fans love things that predict the outcome of tournaments; whether it’s a pig, an octopus, or a supercomputer, the result seems to cheer people up.

With just over three weeks to go before the World Cup, a supercomputer predicted how the tournament might go and delivered a fairytale winner and a dream final.

The World Cup starts on November 20.

An experiment conducted by BCA Research, via Indy100, sampled matches from the last four World Cups along with the FIFA rankings of the national teams to provide their football forecast.

The supercomputer predicted that Portugal and Ronaldo will reach the final on December 18, beating England in the semi-final, but there will be no celebration for the Manchester United star as the supercomputer predicts his team will be beaten by Messi. and Argentina
