Leeds United star confident of causing an upset against Liverpool

Jack Harrison admitted he was ‘surprised’ to see Liverpool lose to Nottingham Forest last weekend but is confident of causing another upset at Anfield on Saturday.

The former Manchester City man will be part of the Leeds United squad that heads to Merseyside this weekend in search of the three much-needed points after they recently dropped out of the Premier League’s bottom three.

The England Under-21 international is aware that the Yorkshire side face a ‘difficult’ match against Jurgen Klopp’s side, who have just come off a solid 3-0 win over Ajax in the Champions League. .

“It was definitely a surprise,” Harrison told the Leeds club’s official website (via Liverpool Echo) when discussing Liverpool’s recent loss to Forest. “You look at the squad and the team they have, I don’t have to say anything really.

“It will be difficult. I think you can expect a tough game against them regardless of their previous result and we know we have to give it our all.

“We know we can achieve our goal and hopefully get the three points, that’s something we’re fighting for. We know it is achievable. We’re going to push for as many points as we can and just give it our all.”

The Reds are unbeaten in their last 12 meetings with the Elland Road outfit with the last loss dating back to 2001.

We did the brace over Leeds last season with a combined score of 9-0 and it takes another strong performance against them this time around to make sure we build on our strong showing against Ajax.

We have struggled for consistency this term and with the World Cup just around the corner, we need to put together a good run of results to ensure we are in a healthy position before many of our prospects head to Qatar.

Leeds are in dire need of a win and will be keen to pull off an upset.

With Darwin Nunez in top form for the FA Cup winners and Mo Salah also among the goalscorers of late, let’s hope for a strong performance against Jesse Marsch’s side.
