Jesse Marsch says that he’s ‘sick of losing’

Leeds United head coach Jesse Marsch is perhaps under the most pressure from Premier League bosses given the club’s current losing run. After all, the club has gone eight games without a win, including four straight losses. Marsch’s men suffered their latest defeat against newcomers Fulham at the weekend.

Speaking before their next meeting, Marsch proclaimed that he had never suffered so much in the sport. “I was a player for 14 years and now a coach for 13 years and I had never lost so much in my career. I’m sick of it,” Marsch said exasperatedly.

Marsch noted that Leeds often take part in these games. However, the club fails to deliver results when it comes to that.

“I’m tired of playing games where we’re in the game and in many cases better than our opponents and being left with nothing,” the coach continued.

“I’m tired of not capitalizing on the moments when we’re better in games and I’m tired of giving away goals too cheaply. And I’m tired of not getting the results we should be getting.”

“I’m trying to find out which guys can be counted on at the highest level,” he also explained. “I need to find out which guys are ready to fight for everything so that in these next few games we can get the points we need.”

However, times could get tougher for the coach. Leeds next travel to Anfield when they take on perennial powerhouses Liverpool on Saturday. Although the Whites have a great game against Bournemouth the following week, a complicated schedule ensues.

After the Bournemouth game, Leeds will face Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Newcastle in their next three Premier League games. Spurs and City are some of the best teams in England, while Newcastle currently sit fourth in the standings.

Marsch has just taken over at Leeds following the sacking of Marcelo Bielsa in February. The American has managed to win just seven of the club’s 24 matches since his arrival earlier this year.
