Chelsea Intend to Sign Bruno Guimaraes in January

English Premier League giants Chelsea are keen to sign Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes in the upcoming January transfer window.

Bruno Guimaraes began his football career at the Audax academy. He later graduated from the Audax Academy and was promoted to the main team.

Later, the midfielder signed on loan from Athletico Paranaense. He soon began to show off his talent and his loan deal became a permanent one. Guimaraes then stayed a further two years at the Brazilian club before signing for French giants Lyon for a reported fee of €20m.

At Lyon, Bruno soon cemented his place in the starting lineup. His consistency earned him a spot on the Brazilian team. The midfielder was part of the Brazilian team that won Olympic gold in Tokyo. Finally, after much rumour, he joined English Premier League club Newcastle in early 2022.

Now, according to a report by Goal, English Premier League club Chelsea are exploring the possibility of signing Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimaraes during next January’s transfer window.

Just after the summer window, Chelsea sacked their Champions League-winning manager Thomas Tuchel. the German was later replaced by British manager Graham Potter.

Under Potter, Chelsea have started a new project and the former Brighton manager has already turned Chelsea’s season around. And now Potter wants to strengthen some areas in the January transfer window. One of them is the central midfielder role.

The Blues may lose two key midfielders next season. The club’s captain, Jorginho, is in the last year of his contract. Although Chelsea want to give him a new contract, they are not ready to meet his demands. Hence, Jorginho is looking at other options.

Meanwhile, French midfielder N’Golo Kante has missed many games since last season. His injury problems have gotten worse over time. Now Chelsea are unsure about giving him an extension.

As a result, the Blues are looking for plenty of midfielders who they can sign in the coming windows. Bruno Guimaraes now enters this great list. At 24 years old, Guimaraes is currently one of the best youngsters in the world.

The Brazilian midfielder has great interest from other teams, including Real Madrid. His current team, Newcastle, see him as the club’s poster boy. They want to build a formidable team around him. Newcastle are currently preparing a big contract extension for him.

So it will be a very tough deal for Chelsea, who have shown they are not shy about splashing out cash for talented players.
