FA decide on Jurgen Klopp punishment after Man City red card

Jurgen Klopp escaped a touchline ban following the red card shown to the Liverpool manager during Manchester City’s win.

This comes courtesy of an update from @FAspokesperson, as reported on Twitter by Echo reporter Paul Gorst, ahead of the Reds’ upcoming Premier League meeting with Leeds United.

It’s a welcome relief for the German manager who had failed over the apparent lack of protection afforded Mo Salah during the Sky Blues’ visit to Anfield.

The Merseysiders will feel the decision vindicates, at least in part, Klopp’s concerns about the quality of officiating at L4 that day.

It’s puzzling to think that former officials like Mike Dean have come to Anthony Taylor’s defense (as reported by the Daily Star) after both coaches on the day were united in their belief that the game was out of control.

At the very least, the whole thing won’t hurt another attempt on our part to build momentum following a 3-0 win in Amsterdam to secure our place in the knockout rounds of the Champions League.
