Antonio Conte suspended for Marseille clash after receiving red card

Antonio Conte will face a one-match suspension from both the touchline and the dressing room for receiving a red card late in Tottenham Hotspur’s clash with Sporting CP.

Spurs faced the Portuguese team at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on October 26 as they tried to secure qualification for the Champions League round of 16.

A hotly contested affair saw Sporting take the lead with former Spurs midfielder Marcus Edwards opening the scoring before Rodrigo Bentancur equalized in the 80th minute.

In the 95th minute of stoppage time, Harry Kane scored a goal and made the stadium rebound with the prospect of advancing to the next stage. However, VAR intervened and disallowed the winning goal as Kane was in an offside position.
