The negative UCL records registered by Juventus in Lisbon -Juvefc.com

While the writing has been on the wall for quite some time, the confirmation came on Tuesday night: Juventus are officially out of the Champions League… in October!

Sadly, the Bianconeri’s European campaign has been a disaster from the start, and now we can only hope to avoid more misery at the hands of Leo Messi and company next Wednesday.

But let’s leave that for next weekend and focus on last night’s loss at the hands of Benfica.

The Bianconeri were down 1-4 earlier with 20 minutes left, but luckily they managed to get back into the game by scoring twice, at least ending the game in a less humiliating fashion.

According to IlBianconero, Juventus recorded some negative records during their departure in Lisbon.

For the first time in history, the Old Lady conceded three goals in the first half of a Champions League match.

On the other hand, the Bianconeri have conceded 11 goals in total in their first five UCL group stage games. This number had never gone beyond 10.

Ultimately, Benfica came very close to adding another miserable record to Juve’s books were it not for their flurry of missed opportunities.

The source notes that Juventus had only conceded more than four goals in a single UCL game on just one occasion in the past, since October 1958 (7-0 loss against Wiener Sportclub).
