Gatti is “upset” at the penalty awarded to BenficaJuvefc.com

Federico Gatti has reacted to Juventus’ defeat at the hands of Benfica and believes that the host should not have received a penalty for Juan Cuadrado’s handball.

The Colombian touched the ball in the penalty area, but it was not intentional, but the referee was sure it was a penalty, a tough decision that infuriated the winger.

Joao Mario converted it to give Benfica the lead again after Juventus had cornered them.

That incident seemed to set the tone for the match and the hosts scored two more goals against the Bianconeri.

Juve will ultimately lose 4-3 after a late recovery was not enough to help them win the game.

After that, the Bianconeri defender said through Football Italia:

“We are upset because we had scored the equalizer and then, in my opinion, they scored an absurd penalty.

“[Juan] Cuadrado was stopped, of course, games change with these incidents. We reacted well, now we have to focus on Lecce and then on PSG because we want to go to the Europa League at all costs.”

Juve FC says

That shot from the penalty spot may have been tough, but that’s not enough of a reason for Juventus to lose that game.

The incident occurred early in the match, giving Juve more time to get back into the game and nullify the result.

Instead, they capitulated and allowed Benfica to run amok before making a late effort to get a match result.
