Liverpool handed three favourable festive fixture changes

The festive Premier League calendar always brings fun for neutrals, hell for managers and heartbreak within families, but Liverpool supporters will be happy to see how this year’s fixtures pan out.

The club’s website confirmed that the following changes had been made for television purposes:

‘Aston Villa v Liverpool: Monday, December 26 (5:30 pm, Amazon Prime Video). Liverpool v Leicester City: Friday December 30 (8pm, Sky Sports). Brentford v Liverpool: Monday 2nd January (5:30pm, Sky Sports).’

There is no such thing as an easy game within this division and it’s not necessarily the opposition we’re up against that’s a positive, though there’s no denying there could be much tougher games to face.

Our Boxing Day match means we’re among the first to play after the World Cup is over, but even having the night kick-off will give Jurgen Klopp a few more precious hours to prepare his team for the clash on the side. by Unai Emery.

Next provides a favorable home match, one of only two matches not to be played on New Year’s Eve and that will be a huge bonus for the fans in the match, who will watch it all over the world and also for the players and your families.

For the start of 2023 we also managed to avoid a New Year’s Day game and the hangovers that many will experience on that day can be spent away from the Reds.

This is not to say that we are guaranteed nine points in the bag and that the two away games are tough, but we certainly can’t complain about the cards we’ve been dealt.

Hopefully we’ll have some fresh footwork after Qatar by then too, as we prepare for a silver rush and success in the second half of the season.
