The Turin Public Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed that all 16 Juventus directors are currently under investigation after being accused of false accounting and false communications to the market.
This allegation refers to some of his transfers that occurred prior to the 2021-22 seasons. It includes the transfer of Italian winger Federico Chiesa, Spanish striker Álvaro Moarta and US men’s national team member Weston McKennie.
A statement from the Prosecutor’s Office stated: “In the opinion of this Prosecutor’s Office, the evidentiary framework acquired allows delineating an activity of alteration of the balance sheet items (and therefore of the operating results)”
It also says: “As a consequence, first of all, of an anomalous resort to operations to exchange sports execution rights for a large number of athletes, operations, moreover, as a whole distorting the national scene.”
What happens if the charges are proven to be true?
Now Juventus will have 20 days to prepare its defense brief and present it. They can also ask the Turin prosecutor to listen to their clients.
In early April, the Bianconeri and 10 other clubs were acquitted of charges of inflating transfer fees to increase their capital income. But now, if the prosecutor obtains more evidence, he will accuse Juventus again for the same thing.
Then, if the charges are proven, UEFA will launch a case of its own against the Bianconeri. This will possibly lead to large fines and even bans for multiple windows.
The Juventus can go further down
Juventus is currently going through a bad financial phase. In addition to that, his performances in the sports sector have also greatly decreased.
