Tuttosport journalist Marco Bo has commented on Juventus’ season and states that their back-to-back wins against Torino and Empoli will mean nothing if they can’t win against Benfica.
Both Serie A teams are struggling, so it was easy for Juve to beat. However, the UCL match against Benfica would be more challenging.
The Portuguese side are undefeated in their league and the Champions League this season and must avoid defeat to confirm their passage to the next round of the competition.
According to Bo, if Juve could transfer their domestic form into the game and secure a win, it would have shown that they are now in top form.
He said via Tuttomercatoweb: “It seems to me that it is correct. Beyond how the race will end, which could reopen the qualifying discussion, performance can tell a lot. After the derby and Empoli, confirming the excellent performances against a higher-level rival would mean passing an important health check on the team. It would also be important in terms of the championship.”
